Programmes

Vernus accepts children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Our programmes incorporate dynamic classroom instruction with caring, qualified teachers and enriching indoor and outdoor play experiences. We know that these first experiences within a school setting will have a long lasting impact on their future academic success.

Each of our programmes provide a strong curriculum and dedicated teachers, who are trained and skilled to meet the specific needs of the age group they care for. The overall experience at Vernus promotes a love of learning while nurturing social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We invite you to visit our schools and see for yourself the exceptional learning that takes place.

Nursery

Our youngest programme for Infants starts as early as 6 weeks of age. We’ve purposefully designed a nurturing and creative world for infants to help their minds and bodies develop. Every moment with an infant is precious, which we make sure to treasure.

Nursery classes are divided according to 6 months age intervals: every 6 months children move to a higher class level or age group as children develop quickly at this level and thus their needs and actions will change.

Children then move to our Toddler programme at one year old. We begin to balance individual attention with group activities and ensure that your child is using all of his or her energy and excitement in productive ways. Our teachers pay special attention to children’s emotional needs while promoting beneficial social skills and early learning.

Preschool

The journey from Nursery to Kindergarten at Vernus is a steady progress. Skills being developed and built, year upon year. We craft a curriculum specifically for each stage of development, so every year brings new challenges and new adventures.

Our Preschool programme, for two year olds, is where friendships begin to develop and children gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to interact with others. We allow children to express themselves creatively and encourage all children to develop their unique skills and interests. At this age children start to be exposed to technology which is an important part of our curriculum through the smart boards in our classrooms and through computer classes.

Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten section caters for children from 3 to 6 years old. Kindergarten section includes Pre-KG, KG1 and KG2; all divided according to age group as the rules and regulations of the KHDA.

We address the different areas of learning as our curriculum. We follow the IPC learning areas as a framework for our curriculum. Every day the children will be exposed to different kinds of experiences and challenges that will ensure the proper development of the children. It is good to mention at this stage is that all our teachers and assistant teachers are IPC, first aid and special needs trained in order to give the best care and learning support to our children.

The Kindergarten section has a fixed timetable for daily classes. However we try to combine structured work time with rich and varied opportunities for play. Children learn to work and play constructively, developing concepts, skills and work habits that continually reinforce each other and prepare them for increasingly sophisticated tasks.

After-School Academy

Vernus After-School Academy provides families with support between the end of a child’s school day and the end of a parent’s workday. Our teachers lead children through all sorts of activities, from tutoring and homework assistance to field trips and recreation.

The most important part of it is that we help children enjoy learning. They study but they also have fun. They play sports, they make music, they explore technology. They enjoy their time spent at a safe, engaging and constructive place to go after school.

Summer and winter camps

Summer and winter breaks are the time when children may have a lot of leisure time with old and lots of new friends. Arts and crafts, sports, engaging indoor and outdoor activities and learning through play makes it a good reason to attend school even during the study break.

You can choose how long your child will spend in the camp - from 1 to 8 weeks in summer and from 1 to 2 weeks in winter. Regardless of how much time children spend there, they always remember it as a great period and want to return to our camps again and again.
